In the news: Silt to allow off-highway vehicles on town’s streets
Off-Highway Vehicles Rules and Regulations within the Town of Silt
Anyone operating an Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) within the Town of Silt must have a valid driver’s license.
The Off-Highway Vehicle must have current and valid insurance for that vehicle.
Every person operating an Off-Highway Vehicle shall do so in compliance with the applicable laws of the State of Colorado and the Model Traffic Code.
All Off-Highway Vehicles will possess and display a Colorado Division Parks and Wildlife registration and possess a Town of Silt sticker which will be displayed on the off-highway vehicle.
Every Off-Highway Vehicle will be required to have the following equipment and this equipment will be in good operating condition.
At least one head light
At least one red tail light
Braking system
Spark arrester and muffler
Everybody under the age of 18 years of age will be required to wear a helmet.
Off-Highway Vehicles will be allowed on Town of Silt streets only. State highways (Main St/Hwy 6 & 24) as well as River Frontage Rd is NOT allowed.
