Victim & Witness Assistance (VALE)
Crime Victims and their families may be eligible from the Town of Silt Victim and Witness Assistance and Law Enforcement Board (VALE) for financial loss resulting from violent crimes and property crimes. Funds for the VALE program comes from fines collected by the Town of Silt Municipal Court. Persons who are convicted of ordinance or traffic violations are assessed a surcharge in addition to their fines. These surcharge funds are used to help crime victims and the Silt Police Department.
